Bleeding

This helpful young man, whilst valiantly attempting to perform CPR on a young lady, has sadly got the wrong end of the stick. Through no deliberate fault of his own, this may lead to an incidentally small, almost harmless, colossal arterial bleed.

• Trauma
• Aneurysm
• Anticoagulants

Rare causes

• Haemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
• Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
• Haemorrhagic disease of the newborn
