Lordosis And Kyphosis

Terms used to describe the shape of the back in skeleto-muscular examination.

  • Lordosis means something curves in as a dip.
  • Kyphosis means it curves out as a protuberance.

I always remember it as lumbar lordosis - and if the l one bends in, that means that the one above it (thoracic) must be kyphosis.
